Road work on a regular basis seems like a necessary evil while driving. Necessary repairs are essential to keep our road network running, but sometimes being in traffic can ruin your day.
It can get even worse when you get into traffic because you weren’t aware of the roadworks planned for your route. Fortunately, Highways England has announced all roadworks planned to be carried out on its network by April 2022.
And to make life easier, we have created a map for each of the works planned to avoid traffic jams. Most roadworks will likely cause only minor delays to drivers, which means maintenance work will add less than 10 minutes to your journey.
But many others will lead to further delays. British Highway warned that many roadworks would result in moderate delays of 10-30 minutes.
The worst delays are classified as “extreme” and will result in a delay of more than half an hour due to the workload. There are 10 such projects that will cause severe delays in April.
Use the map below to see the road works in your area. The green dots are functions that cause slight delays, the blue dots cause moderate delays, and the nine red dots are functions that cause severe delays. Click each to see the exact working time.
