Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
As Ukrinform reports, based on the official account of the head of state of Ukraine on the Internet, the leaders discussed current issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus, thereby continuing the dialogue started during the Kiev meeting.
V. Zelenskyi stressed the importance of PAR’s participation in working groups on the Ukrainian peace formula. The presidents drew attention to the preparation of the next meeting of advisors on the implementation of the points of the Peace Formula.
“We are extremely grateful for the start of real work of our Peace Formula platform. Your country’s embassy in Ukraine and Mr. Ambassador personally participate in meetings on this issue,” said the head of state of Ukraine.
The presidents also discussed preparations for the World Peace Summit, which will be attended by country leaders.
It was noted that the “grain corridor” in the Black Sea needed to be restored to ensure global food security, as well as the creation of grain supply centers in Africa.
“We are not waiting, we are continuing the Black Sea grain initiative, we are trying alternative routes. “Several ships carrying grain have already successfully used these routes, despite the difficult situation,” the Ukrainian President emphasized.
V. Zelensky and C. Ramaphosa also discussed the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian head of state stressed the importance of accelerating the processes of returning Ukrainian children illegally deported to Russia, as well as the exchange of detained persons.
As Ukrinform reported, V. Zelenskiy previously said that the Ukrainian Peace Formula is an important platform not only for achieving a just end to the war that the Russian Federation has unleashed against Ukraine, but can also become a universal basis for ending other armed conflicts.
