Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo fell off his bike and passed out while out with his son. The Prime Minister was hospitalized. This is reported by Sky News.
Doctors at the hospital did not identify any long-term effects.
The incident happened on Saturday, when A. De Croo, 47, was cycling near his home in Flanders.
“Fortunately, I was riding with a helmet and my son called for help. Sport is good for your health. But sometimes you have to be more careful,” said A. De Croo, who continues home treatment.
The incident is not expected to interfere with the prime minister’s work schedule for the coming week.
A. De Croo has been Prime Minister of Belgium since 2020. 1 October. From 2012 to 2020, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of the country. in 2018 December 9 – 2020 October 1 was the finance minister of the country during the period.
