Podoliak: territorial compromises in the war with Russia would mean the defeat of democracy

Any territorial concession in the war with Russia would mean the defeat of democracy and the preservation of the regime of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

This was stated on Friday by Mikhail Podoliak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, reports the portal “rbc.ua”.

“Any “compromise scenario” which does not provide for the liberation of all territories of Ukraine and which “anonymous sources” of European and American elites periodically speak of is equivalent to the defeat of democracy, the victory of Russia, to the preservation of Putin’s regime,” Podoliaks said.

According to him, such compromises would lead to a sharp increase in conflict in world politics.

“All this is a blue dream of Russia. A rhetorical question: why do individual state entities continue to play according to the “Russian media scenario” and prolong the conflict?” – underlined the manager.

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory, some politicians have argued that the war would end sooner if Ukraine made territorial concessions to Moscow.

Ukrainian officials and President Volodymyr Zelensky have repeatedly stressed that Ukraine’s territorial concessions will in no way satisfy Putin, but only encourage him to do so in the future.

On Friday, it was reported that Chinese special envoy Li Hui, during a visit to European countries, offered to leave the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia.
