Promoted this Thursday by El País. According to information from El País, the text of the Ministry of Irene Montero, under the General Directorate of Equal Treatment and Racial-Ethnic Diversity, constitutes a serious crime of “uttering hate speech based on racism.” The text also outlines the plan’s measures for the police force.
According to El País, the draft stipulates that companies with more than 250 employees must prepare a plan within one year of the law’s entry into force, “with action measures to prevent, eliminate and remedy all forms of racial or related discrimination.” Intolerance in the field of employment for the reasons provided by this law”.
Among the “serious violations”, the draft law, accessed by El País, refers to “speech (…) that spreads, incites, promotes or justifies hatred based on racism…”.
This part is probably where the racist chants against Madrid striker Vinicius during last week’s game in Valencia come in.
On March 21, International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Secretary of State for Equality, Angela Rodriguez, said: “We cannot allow hate crimes not only to exist, but to prevent us from being able to address the under-reporting and under-protection that they face. However, given the election calendar, the summer and negotiations with the Socialist wing of the government and the rest of parliament, time is very tight in the remaining legislature.
