With Christmas just around the corner, families across the country are anxiously waiting to see if their packages will arrive on time. Parcel delivery is usually delayed during busy holiday season. But this year the Royal Mail strikes have added to the usual disruption as people wait for presents to be delivered so they can be wrapped in time for Christmas Day.

Now delivery company Yodel has warned customers in some areas that there may be “minor delays”. A statement on the company’s website reads: “As we head into the busy holiday season, it may take a few extra days in some areas of the country for us to get your packages to you. Our teams work very hard to deliver all your packages to you.”

A Yodel spokesperson said: “Due to exceptional circumstances at this time of year there are delays in certain parts of the UK. We work hard to deliver to our customers as quickly as possible. Please visit our website for live updates.”
