Doctors’ conclusion: Saakashvili’s condition worsens

April 2 Doctors who visited former Sakartveli President Mikheil Saakashvili noted that his condition had worsened since their previous visit on February 19. It can be attached to the bed.

This was reported by the “rbc.ua” portal based on the “Georzija Online” publication on Tuesday.

A group of specialists formed to monitor Mr. Saakashvili’s state of health has published a new medical report on the former president’s state of health.

According to doctors, due to muscle atrophy, Mr Saakashvili has lost another four kilograms of weight, he moves with difficulty, his blood pressure drops when he tries to stand up, which is accompanied by a loss of balance and coordination disorders.

According to doctors, if the weight continues to drop, the former head of state risks being bedridden and unable to move.

From 2004 to 2013, Mr. Saakashvili served as chairman of Sakartveli for two consecutive terms. In 2015-2016 he headed the administration of the Odessa region, and since June 2020 he has been the chairman of the executive committee of Ukrainian reforms. Mr. Saakashvili has Ukrainian nationality.

October 1, 2021 the politician returned to Sakartvela, where he was immediately arrested. Then the country’s prosecutor’s office filed another criminal complaint against him – this time for illegal border crossing. Several criminal proceedings have already been initiated against him.

According to Mr Saakashvili’s lawyers, the politician has been diagnosed with dementia and tuberculosis, and a dozen other illnesses are suspected.

In late November, reports surfaced that traces of arsenic had been found in Mr. Saakashvili’s body.
