Two Israelis were injured Sunday in a suspected Palestinian attack in the occupied West Bank town of Huwara, paramedics said.
According to available data, the armed attacker shot at a car in which two adults and three children were traveling. A total of twenty shots were reportedly fired. According to media reports, Israeli security forces arrested the suspect shortly after the incident.
According to the AFP news agency, the condition of one of the injured is serious.
Huvar is crossed by a road used daily by many Israeli settlers living in the northern West Bank.
The security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories has long been tense. Since the beginning of the year, 13 Israelis and one Ukrainian have been killed in Palestinian attacks. During the same period, 85 Palestinians were killed, either in clashes with Israeli forces or in their own attacks.
There are fears of a further escalation in violence during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, which begins next week.
