The BFMTV news portal, citing police sources, reported that 81 people had been arrested. Around 4,000 people gathered for the protest in the capital. Demonstrations also took place in other cities, including Nantes, Marseille and Bordeaux. People oppose raising the retirement age from 62 to 64, a reform Macron pushed through on Thursday bypassing a parliamentary vote.
