Russian hackers attacked several German websites on Wednesday, reports the Tagesschau portal.
“A group of Russian hackers, probably in response to Germany’s decision to supply tanks to Ukraine, attacked several German websites. Among other things, the websites of the country’s government and the airport of Hamburg were affected,” the report said.
According to representatives of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), these were so-called DDoS attacks. “Some web pages are currently unavailable,” they added.
On Wednesday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that his country would transfer 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and give partner countries the appropriate authorization to send these vehicles to Kyiv.
