As the corruption scandal continues in Ukraine, the governors of five regions – Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Sumy and Kherson – have been removed from their posts.
This is reported by “The Guardian” with reference to the Ukrainian public television channel “Suspilne”.
A little later, it is reported that two deputy ministers of municipalities, territories and infrastructure development are also retiring.
Earlier on Tuesday, the resignations of Deputy Head of President’s Office Kyryl Tymoshenko, Deputy Defense Minister Vyacheslav Shapovalov and Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Symonenko were also announced.
Recently, the media reported that a number of senior Ukrainian officials have been charged with corruption. In response, President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday promised a firm response and noted that relevant decisions have already been prepared.
