Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, who said on a telethon broadcast on Ukrainian channels on Monday that negotiations on the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine are in the final stages, also said that the question of the supply of combat aircraft to Ukraine has also moved from the dead point.
“Things have evolved. And if it moves quickly like, hopefully, an airplane, we will soon have a result,” said D. Kuleba, quoted by the Ukrinform agency.
“There are three important issues left: one, I think, is almost resolved – tanks, and two options that are still under discussion – long-range missiles and fighter jets. But in the information space, we can already see how the first messages appear that someone somewhere is discussing the subject of planes. It did not exist before, but now it is a reality”, continued D. Kuleba.
The United States of America (USA) announced last summer that Ukrainian pilots would learn to fly American F-16s. It is true that there have been no substantial discussions in the public space about the transfer of Western-made aircraft to Ukraine, writes the BBC Russia service.
