US Justice is investigating classified documents found in Biden’s office

The United States Department of Justice is investigating a series of classified documents in the offices of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Engagement, which US President Joe Biden founded after Barack Obama’s vice presidency (2009-2017). .

The case, although according to the American media, bears little resemblance, it is reminiscent of what led the FBI to search the residence of former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) in Mar-a-Lago (Florida) last August.

In a statement, the White House assured that it is cooperating with the investigation, which is being conducted by the Justice Department along with the National Archives, which is responsible for protecting all classified documents of the US presidency.

“The White House is cooperating with the National Archives and the Department of Justice regarding the discovery of records from the Obama and Biden administrations, including a small number of documents marked classified,” Biden’s special counsel said. Richard Zauber.

According to The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources, the FBI is also involved in an investigation into ten documents found in the office that Biden regularly used from 2017 to the start of the 2020 presidential campaign.

The documents were found by Biden’s lawyers and turned over to authorities, unlike what happened at Mar-a-Lago, where the intervention of the Justice Department was necessary to get the documents back.
