A work of Banksy was peeled off the wall of a house in Ukraine

In Ukraine, a group of locals peeled off a recently completed painting by street artist Banksy from a wall.

Police arrested eight people aged 27 to 60 in the Kyiv suburb of Hostomel, Kyiv region police chief Andrijus Nebytovas said on Friday.

According to the police, the organizer was a Kyiv resident born in 1990. The motive for the group was not immediately known.

An intact painting of a woman in a bathrobe, curlers and a gas mask was seized from the scene. The Ministry of Culture has been asked to decide on the fate of the work.

Neighbors who witnessed the incident called the police. In November, several works by the mysterious British street artist Banksy were found in a kyiv suburb.
