Due to the current events and the difficult situation in Ukraine, Tet has expanded its offer of television news channels, supports the need for Ukrainian businesses to back up data, and abolished the cost of international calls to Ukraine.
International news channels CNN, Current Time and UATV have been added to the list of Tet + channels since yesterday, in order to provide the public with the widest possible access to objective information on what is happening in Ukraine, joining Euronews, BBC World News and “and other major world news channels. Tonight’s terrestrial TV offer is being supplemented by the TV channel Dožd (also available on CNN, Euronews and other news channels). On Helio’s interactive television, current news in Ukraine and around the world can be followed by CNN, BBC World News, Euronews, UATV (Ukraine), Current Time, Dozh, DW (Germany) , Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, France 24 and other television channels. During the last 24 hours, Latvian residents have been more actively following current information in Ukraine on these channels. For example, the number of households following the TV news channels “Tet +” doubled yesterday, while the average viewing time increased by two thirds (60%) compared to the previous day.
There is a growing interest from Ukrainian entrepreneurs in secure data storage and data backup. Therefore, Tet provides these companies with the maximum possible expert and knowledge support around the clock, as well as quickly increases the speed of the Internet and the capacity of clouds available to customers, so that Ukrainian companies can make copies of their data as soon as possible. “If companies in Latvia pay more attention to cyber risks now, then in Ukraine it is more important to provide the very basis for protecting their operations. We see the urgent need for customers to back up data and deploy IT systems outside Ukraine. Our task is to help customers get all these services as quickly as possible, “says Uldis Tatarčuks, Chairman of the Board of Tet.
As of yesterday, Tet’s fixed voice network also abolished charges for international calls to Ukraine to help people connect with their families, friends and partners. As well as to improve the quality of communications, the routing of voice communications to Ukraine via Russia and Belarus has been discontinued, providing it via alternative connections.
The company reminds that TV viewers who use pay-TV services in the morning need to retune their receivers or decoders to the new receivable frequencies. Although the latest generation TVs will move channels automatically, tuning the decoders is recommended for all customers.
