Technology company Google and the Latvian Ministry of Economics are launching a program to strengthen the digital skills of Latvian companies. The new specialized “Growth with Google” program will provide free training to approximately 3,000 small and medium-sized businesses by the end of this year, expanding their knowledge and skills in areas such as e-commerce, exports, digital marketing and technology integration in business.

The goal of the “Growth with Google” program is to help Latvian small and medium-sized enterprises improve the acquisition and application of digital skills, as well as to encourage Latvians to take full advantage of digital opportunities.
“In partnership with Google, we encourage entrepreneurs and anyone interested to participate in a free training program to strengthen their digital skills and protect their business in a changing environment. , “says Minister of Economics Jānis Vitenbergs.

Today, it is especially important for Latvian companies to improve their business resilience, expand internationally and prepare for the future of the job market. Convincing that employees have the right level of digital skills is the key to success, “said Marta Poślad, Google’s Director of Public Policy for Central and Eastern Europe.
“According to the EU Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), the digitization of Latvia’s small and medium-sized enterprises is not as fast as in the large enterprise group. The training offered by Google will be an opportunity to stimulate companies to improve their efficiency through digital marketing opportunities. At present, state co – financing is available, but in the autumn we will offer entrepreneurs a new support program, which will provide an opportunity to integrate various digital solutions into the operations of companies on a much larger scale, “says LIAA director Kaspars Rožkalns.
The Growth with Google program will provide Google-paid online courses, a variety of tools, and educational programs not only for existing businesses and their employees, but also for those who are beginning their careers or wanting to pursue a career in the field.
In collaboration with local partners – Digital Marketing Training Center “Digital Journey” and e-commerce growth support platform “eCOMHUB”, Google will provide training in knowledge and skills in areas such as export, e-commerce, digital marketing, business integration of technology, etc.
Given the current situation, part of the program will also offer training on cybersecurity, helping people learn about the most common security threats online and practical ways to protect company data, devices and websites. The training will be suitable for all employees of small and medium-sized enterprises who want to improve their digital skills.
To attend training, must register, indicating the desired course topic, date and time. The training will start on April 19 and will take place online. The training will take place in Latvian.
