SAINTS coach Russell Martin and his team want to ensure the team remains unbeaten against Bristol City in ten league games.
They need to get back to winning ways after dropping two points in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town.
The visiting Robins are themselves going through a period of change this month after former Saints coach Nigel Pearson was sacked and replaced by Liam Manning.
Manning joins from Oxford United and shares similarities with Martin in terms of coaching style and the type of football he wants his team to play.
Here’s how we think Martin might field his Saints against Bristol City, who beat Middlesbrough last time out…
Gavin Bazunu will retain his place in goal for the Saints and will play every minute of the Championship season under Martin.
Kyle Walker Peters, Jan Bednarek AND Taylor Harwood Bellis are specific starters. However, Ryan Manning may return James Bree will likely retain his left-back position.
Flynn Downs continues to do an excellent job anchoring the Saints midfield Will Smallbone AND Stuart Armstrong created before him.
A special change is the reintroduction Charlie Alcarazand the Saints can’t seem to win games without him. Kamaldeen Sulemana AND Adam Armstrong will likely outflank Argentina.
Full projected lineup:
Bazunu; Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Harwood-Bellis, Bree; Downes, Smallbone, S. Armstrong; Alcaraz, Kamaldin, Armstrong.
