EASTLEIGH FC has confirmed that it has received approval from all relevant authorities for SJD Leisure Limited to complete the acquisition of the club.
Under the terms of the deal, Stewart would buy 85 percent of Donald’s shares, which would give him a majority stake in the club.
Stewart will become chairman of the Eastleigh Football Club, with current chairman Tom Coffey taking on the role of vice chairman.
When asked if he would like to take over the club, Donald said: “I am delighted to be back at Eastleigh. It’s no secret that after my last stay here, I am very attached to the club, the region and the fans.
“It is very dear to me and I could not help but return to continue my journey. When I joined the club I had a lot to do on and off the field and now it’s different. I can’t wait to start.”
Upon completion of the acquisition, Coffey added: “Existing majority shareholders are delighted to close the deal with Stewart. He is clearly well known to us, the fans and key stakeholders.”
“We are confident that exciting times are ahead of us as a board. Like last time, Stewart’s influence on the football club will be extremely beneficial.”
