Dublin were crowned Division Two champions after a chaotic final with Derry at Croke Park this afternoon.

It may have been a great day for football, but the quality of play was not good at times.

This was especially true for the opening exchanges, which were marred by poor shooting and passing.

It was Derry who provided the quickest of the two teams and Conor Glass and Shane McGuigan put them a mere two points ahead at the break.

From the restart the game turned as Dublin experienced a flurry of goals. First it was Killian O’Gara who expertly tapped the ball into the net after a great pass from Brian Fenton.

Con O’Callaghan, who had been quiet in the first half, suddenly came alive and startled the Derry full-back. The Dublin striker was fouled in the big area and Paul Mannion converted from the spot.

John Small struck soon after before Lorcan Odell added the icing on the cake with a cheeky finish.

A big win for Dublin as they collect their first silverware in 2023. However, they will certainly have their sights set on bigger titles in the coming months.

Lorcan Odell with the goal. I think he wants a point, but he just bends one into the top corner. A strike of sorts if he meant business.

Con bursts past two men, makes it to Daire Newcombe, who somehow manages to hammer the ball towards the posts rather than an empty net. Derry are so open at the back today, which is hard to believe.
