A 74-year-old man was arrested this Wednesday in Miranda de Ebro, Burgos, for sending letters with pyrotechnic materials addressed, among others, to Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and embassies, police sources confirmed to elDiario.es. . Shipments were made in November and December last year.
The first package of this explosive material was discovered on November 24 at the Palacio de la Moncloa and was sent by regular mail. The letter was intercepted by the services of the Presidential Security Department while performing correspondence filtering tasks.
Later, other similar shipments in content and form became known: they arrived at the Ukrainian and US embassies in Madrid, at the Instalaza company, at the arms production center in Zaragoza, where grenade launchers that Spain sends to Ukraine are made. The events ended with the Ukrainian embassy worker being injured by the explosion of one of the devices.
