A woman had a hammer pressed to her throat in a “frightening” attack, police say.
Officials are investigating the early morning incident in Derry and have appealed for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Ballentine added: “Two masked men allegedly entered the premises, one armed with a hammer, who entered the resident’s bedroom and pressed it against her neck before both men left the building.
“While the woman who was at the property at the time reported no physical injury, it was a horrific and terrifying ordeal that left her shaken.
“An investigation is ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone in the Altcar Park area with CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist them in their investigation to contact them on reference number 373 dated 07/01/23 at 101 Strand Road.
