This is the worst crisis to hit society in living memory.
And as we all pull together to do our part, the Macklin Group, care home providers in Northern Ireland, are looking for several people to join us.
From kitchen staff and caregivers to nurses and laundry workers, family care home operations currently have a number of options.
Permanent and replacement positions are available with full-time and part-time options as well as flexible working hours.
Director Gareth Macklin, who says people working in social care have a huge role to play in the fight against Covid-19, says applicants for most available posts don’t need any previous care home experience – they just need the right values.
“We will learn the rest,” he said. “Because there is so much to do now. And alongside the phenomenal work of the medical staff in the NHS, I would like to pay tribute to the important and heroic work being done by everyone in Northern Ireland in the social care sector.
“These are cleaners, kitchen staff, receptionists, laundries, maintenance staff, support staff, but also carers and nurses, who all work together every day to care for the most vulnerable people in our society.”
With over 25 current vacancies within the Macklin Group, whose care homes are at the heart of communities across Belfast and beyond, this opportunity is well worth checking out.
“We need people who share our values,” Macklin said. “People who really care and want to make a difference. We know that there are people who care for their loved ones and have worked in difficult situations before.
“Many of the positions we have to fill do not require you to have worked in a care home before, as we provide all the necessary training. We are looking for people who share our values of compassion and a good work ethic. We will learn the rest.”
