The Belfast-based Police Ombudsman of Northern Ireland is looking for an Intelligence Analyst and Investigative Officer to investigate historical cases.
One of the tasks of the Police Ombudsman is to investigate police involvement in a significant number of cases between 1969 and 1998. Most of these cases involve allegations of murder or attempted murder and justice.
You need an understanding and commitment to the fundamental principles of human rights, a thorough understanding of the sensitive, social, cultural and political environment in which the work of the Police Ombudsman takes place.
Both positions are temporary and require funding, but will be combined with accommodation and travel as required.
The role of Intelligence Analyst is for two to three years and that of Investigating Officer is for 18 months.
