Belfast Telegraph Property Awards: House Builder Boss Named Award Winning Person

The chairman of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious homebuilder, along with Electric Ireland, was named Property Person of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards.

Braidwater Group Founder and CEO Patrick McGinnis was named Real Estate Professional of the Year by a jury for his contributions to building homes in Northern Ireland. He built his first home in Londonderry, County Goatgalle in 1973.

CPS Properties was named the multi-branch residential real estate agent of the year, but Macmillan-McClure Real Estate Agencies was the only branch to win Home Agency of the Year that year.

Auckland Holdings was awarded Real Estate Transaction of the Year for its diligence and preparatory work in securing the sale of its £87m speculative office development in Merchants Square in Belfast city centre.

The project was given entirely to the business consulting firm PwC, which was then sold to an investor in the Middle East.

According to the judges, Auckland Holdings’ efforts “convinced customers that Belfast’s Merchant Square is a profitable proposition worthy of a long-term investment”.
