The flu vaccine cannot replace the coronavirus vaccine.
Immunologist and international health expert Nikolai Kryuchkov explained in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda radio why there has been a jump in Covid-19 cases in Russia in recent weeks.
According to the expert, this phenomenon cannot be considered seasonal because the increase in its incidence started in August. Coronavirus infection remains pandemic and not seasonal. Kryuchkov sees neither a seasonal component nor signs of a new type of “pyrrole” in the current situation regarding the spread of coronavirus. According to the expert, we are talking about the spread of many different types of “omicrons”.
The expert explained that in the case of coronavirus, the term “seasonality” can be divided into two important factors: social and natural. The most important is the social factor. Schoolchildren and students returning from vacation to educational institutions, many returning from vacation, public transport is overloaded and stuck in traffic jams for a long time. All this contributes to the spread of infection.
The influence of the social factor is amplified by the natural one: the large temperature difference between night and day, the north wind and the absence of sunlight. Taken together, all these contribute to the weakening of the body’s defenses and the increase in coronavirus cases.
Kryuchkov also noted that the flu vaccine cannot replace the coronavirus vaccine. Wearing a mask is not mandatory, but it is recommended for those with chronic diseases.
It has previously been reported about frightening mutations of the coronavirus that current vaccines may not protect against.
