Immunologist Vladimir Bolibok predicted a new wave of COVID-19 to emerge in October-November 2023. As an expert told Channel 360, in autumn the air loses its bactericidal properties, while low temperatures and short daylight hours reduce the body’s protective functions.
The expert called on especially the elderly and those with chronic diseases not to neglect the vaccine and to get vaccinated again. This precaution will help prevent complications of the infection. Bolibok also noted that despite the emergence of new coronavirus types, the domestic vaccine continues to be effective.
The immunologist recommended strengthening the body by proven means – sufficient sleep, proper nutrition and feasible physical activity. The expert also recommends taking multivitamins and vitamin C because foods may not adequately meet your body’s supply of micronutrients.
Previously, neurologist Alla Strutsenko compared the coronavirus to the lethargic encephalitis epidemic of the early 20th century.
