“I don’t know why people are so upset that I’m a confident young woman. Of course, it’s not easy when you’re criticized every day not for what you do, but for how you look,” says actress Florence Pugh, who recently attracted the most attention after playing the lead role in the psychological thriller “Don’t Worry, Darling”, which caused more than one scandal. The film directed by Olivia Wilde arrives in theaters in our country this Friday, September 23.
“I often get bitter comments about my body on social media. So I ask, which of my boobs do you hate the most? Left? Right? Is it too big or too small? And, you won’t believe it , they become confused because of my frankness”, smiles the young star.
F. Pugh’s aforementioned direct questions to his detractors have become incredibly popular. The post received more than 2 million likes on Instagram, according to a press release.
“I fully understand the price of Hollywood, it has to be paid by everyone on the movie screen. Sadly, more than one promising actor who couldn’t handle the pressure to be perfect has ended career long before they deserve it. Often people don’t even realize that one angry word they write can ruin someone’s life. However, I learned that lesson well. I won’t be ruined by someone who doesn’t like my chest. I only respond seriously to professional acting comments. If there are any, I always take the comments into consideration, because only they make me do a big step forward and improve myself,” says the 26-year-old actress.
Well, the movie critics aren’t sparing her praise this time around. We will see Alice and Jack Chambers (actors F. Pugh and Harry Styles) at the center of the psychological thriller, which caused several scandals among the public. After the husband changes jobs, the young family moves to a closed corporate campus in California established by the new employer. Here, the reins are firmly held in his hands by the company’s charismatic boss, Frank (actor Chris Pine).
At first glance, the company’s closed campus is a real idyll, where everything has been thought out for the comfort of employees and their partners. While the husbands work on top secret projects, their wives spend their time having fun, surrounded by every possible luxury. For this paradise life, only one thing is required – not to go into details and not to question anything.
But Alisa is not the type to ask questions. Of course, at first she, too, dazed with admiration, enjoys life, but after a while some details begin to worry her, and the woman will not just ignore them. Gradually, behind the facade of an ideal life, strange, frightening and threatening outlines of true reality begin to emerge.
How will the couple’s life turn out and how will this “adventure” end? We will see that in the film “Don’t worry, my dear” this Friday, September 23.
