Russia-China partnership in the field of cinema was discussed at EEF.
Prospects for the development of Russia-China relations in the field of cinema, among other issues, were discussed at the Eastern Economic Forum. The cause of the controversy was the Chinese version of the film “A Trap for the Lonely Man” with the participation of Nikolai Karachentsev. The Chinese version of the film, which combines the traditions of Soviet cinema with the high technologies of Chinese cinema, is called “Lost in the Stars”.
While Chinese cinema was developing rapidly, one of the topics discussed was that Western cinema should be replaced with Chinese cinema. Speakers believe that this is quite possible, given the demand of Russian audiences for quality blockbusters.
For the successful development of cooperation in this field, integration is primarily necessary. Experts mean mutual recognition of actors in both countries. Mechanisms for the implementation of these processes can be student exchange, media influence and interaction at different stages of cinema.
Additionally, the speakers think it is necessary to regularly distribute Russian films in China and Chinese films in Russia. This will help viewers get used to and love the cinema of a friendly country.
Previously, it was reported that the State Duma of the Russian Federation allowed the restriction of films from unfriendly countries.
