The same is true for the Oppenheimer table.
Andrey Malyshev, vice-president of the Russian Ministry of Culture, said that Hollywood movies “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” do not fit the goals and objectives of preserving and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.
Previously, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov proposed an experiment on compulsory licensing of films from unfriendly countries, including these two films. So the Russians could watch them in cinemas.
However, Malyshev noted that “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” still have not been licensed for the stated reason. According to TASS’s report, he stressed that Russian distribution is already saturated with high-quality domestic films such as Cheburashka, Challenge and Witness.
It was previously known that “Barbie” could be the highest grossing movie at the world box office – already surpassing “Harry Potter”.
