Eurovision Song Contest singer Brooke Scullion got her Dancing With The Stars journey on track after wowing judges and audiences with a fiery first dance.

Dancing With The Stars Ireland returned to RTÉ One on Sunday night with a host of new celebrities ready to put on their dancing shoes and show what they’re made of.

Derry’s own Brooke made an impression as she burst onto our screens with a cheeky samba number with partner Maurizio Benenato.

The duo earned an impressive 25 out of 30 points from judges Brian Redmond, Loraine Barry and Arthur Gourounlian – a record for the highest first dance score in the show’s history.

The 23-year-old is dancing to Mabel’s Let Them Know and has already established herself as the frontrunner for this year’s series.

Judge Arthur said after their first dance: “Brooke Scullion, that was amazing. you can dance I couldn’t take my eyes off you.”

Brian added: “Maurizio thinks he’s the luckiest boy in Ireland. Work through the energy. Clean up the small details.”

Brooke previously told The Postedia that she hopes to show a different side of herself while attending the show and is ready to bring energy and fun to the first episode – something she certainly proved on Sunday.

She said: “I think people will be amazed by my achievements and the sides of me that I will show!

“It’s a very exciting time for me because I feel like I grew up in front of everyone at home and now I’m ready to show myself as a versatile woman.

There are so many different characters to play and I hope to stay in the league long enough to try some of them out.”
